Pioneer Credit has a long-term commitment to a number of projects that make a positive contribution to the community. One of the defining aspects of these programs is the involvement of our team members who commit their time and energy – typically outside of working hours – to assist others in the community. Below is a selection of the current projects we are involved with.

Starlight Foundation

Pioneer Credit is proud to be a Gold Partner of the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Starlight’s mission is “To brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families”. They help sick kids simply be kids by turning pain, fear and stress into fun, joy and laughter.

In addition to our corporate sponsorship, we raise awareness among our team about Starlight’s great work, and facilitate volunteering opportunities. Some of our team members have been fortunate to visit the Starlight Express Room – a special space where sick kids and families can have a welcome break and get down to the serious business of having fun!

Our team also participated in a Starlight ‘Thank-a-thon”. This was an amazing morning where we joined together and called over 1200 Starlight’s donors, just to say “Thanks!” Everyone really enjoyed chatting to these special donors, and we were proud to help Starlight with this critical initiative.

Please go to www.starlight.org.au to find out more about the amazing work that Starlight has been doing for 30 years to help sick kids and their families.

LifelineWA

LifelineWA offers critical services to Western Australians, providing them with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. Pioneer is proud to announce a new three year partnership to sponsor Lifeline WA. Our team will receive specialist training from Lifeline counsellors, which will support us to assist our customers, team mates and loved ones who may be experiencing mental health issues.

45,000 Western Australians called the 13 11 14 crisis line last year with 11% at imminent risk of suicide. All donations, including the support by  Pioneer Credit, goes toward training more volunteer crisis supporters so that Lifeline WA can answer every call.

CAN4CANCER

For the past four years, Pioneer Credit has sponsored cancer fundraiser CAN4CANCER’s Tour de Cure cycling event. Since 2007 the Tour de Cure organisation has raised over $40 million for cancer research, support and prevention projects. In 2017 alone, CAN4CANCER raised more than $1.5m for prostate, breast and neuroblastoma cancer projects, promoting health and fitness to its staff, clients and communities.

Pioneer Credit is committed to working with our banking partners, including CBA, to support their outstanding work within the community. We are proud to have been a sponsor of CAN4CANCER for the past four years, and a Gold Sponsor in 2017 and 2018.

To support our sponsorship of CAN4CANCER, our team members threw their support behind the event, with three of our team volunteering to serve as part of the event (a three day, 360km bike ride). A further 110 people in our Perth office took part in a spin challenge event on six spin bikes, keeping the wheels turning for twelve hours straight to raise additional funds. In 2018 we will go even bigger with two riders, more support crew and a challenge to have even more Spin riders raising awareness and vital funds for CAN4CANCER!

SFSuper Series

Sanfilippo Syndrome is a rare and fatal condition. Affected children have a life expectancy of just 12-20 years and there is currently no effective treatment or cure. The mission of the Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation is to fund medical research so a cure can be found in time for children battling Sanfilippo today, and for those born with it tomorrow.

Pioneer Credit is proud to sponsor the 2018 SFSuper Series – six sporting activities designed for participants to challenge themselves physically whilst having fun and fundraising for the Foundation.  Our Perth team and their families are excited to participate in the first ever Perth event – the Spring to it Fun Run! We will all get together for a fun family day out, while raising funds and awareness for Sanfilippo. Our team in Sydney will also join the Big Feet Little & Feet Fun Run in Sydney’s northern beaches with their families.

Co3 Australia

At Pioneer, we love to express ourselves and embrace our creative sides. We are excited to announce a new sponsorship of Co3 Australia – a contemporary dance company that contributes a unique voice to the national cultural environment.

In additional to putting on world class performances at the State Theatre Centre of WA, Co3 have a range of community outreach programs that promote well being through dance. They engage with young people around Australia and in WA through an Act Belong Commit program, provide free fitness classes for Perth CBD workers on Fridays, and participate in school residences and workshops.

ToyBox

ToyBox International is a children’s charity dedicated to helping Australia’s sick and disadvantaged children. ToyBox meets the cost of vital equipment and therapy for children in need, to help them conquer the challenges life has brought them. It also funds incredible escapes so they can enjoy welcome distractions and inspiration to make their journeys easier, provides essential grants that support their families and allows them to be by their child’s side, and funds vital research so that future generations will not face these challenges.

Pioneer Credit supports ToyBox through a range of programs including an annual Christmas ToyBox initiative. Most recently, in 2017 our team members raised funds to purchase four mobility trikes, smashing our goal to fundraise for two! In previous years, we also raised funds for exciting Christmas presents for kids at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Pioneer Hearts

In 2015, Pioneer Credit launched an exciting volunteer program for our people. Pioneer Hearts is a group of like-minded team members who share a love for supporting community projects and giving back to those in need.

Our team have committed to volunteering their time outside of work hours to support various community organisations, including Telethon, Starlight Foundation, Red Cross Blood Centre and the Cancer Council.

More than 50 team members have put their hand up to get involved in 2018, and we look forward to continuing to make positive change in our community.

The Cancer Council

We love to bake, eat and have fun at Pioneer Credit and our participation in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea grows every year!  Our talented home cooks create a feast for the senses and our team is more than happy to sample all the delicious treats, all in the name of charity.
